Without Pro
A PRO badge marks each setting that needs Pro; clicking it shows Settings → License. Without Pro, video downloads as MP4 and audio as M4A, files are named by their titles in the downloads folder, 2 downloads run at once with 4 connections each, and live streams don't record.
Settings you chose with Pro are kept, and work again when Pro does. What you downloaded stays yours.
The trial
Settings → License → Start Free Trial unlocks all of Pro for 14 days, with no key and no payment; on the command line, downbit license trial. Each computer has one trial. When it ends, Downbit goes back to Free.
The license
After you buy Pro, its key shows on the page and comes by email. Activate in Downbit on that page activates it; or paste it in Settings → License and choose Activate, or run downbit license activate <key>.
A license works on 3 computers. To move it to another, remove one under Computers in the License settings, or choose Deactivate on the computer itself.
The license is checked on your computer, offline. Downbit verifies it with the license server every few days, and Pro keeps working for 30 days without a connection. Email My Key… sends your keys to the address you bought with.
